Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research, and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and community‑based services. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will merge with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a new health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.
The merger will strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

- Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4, or Social Worker/Occupational Therapist/Psychologist Grade 3

As the Senior AOD Clinician, you will assist young people and their families where the use of drugs and/or alcohol are impacting the emotional, psychological and physical wellbeing of the young person and family members. You will take a lead and coordinate the understanding of drug and alcohol use in young people and the impact of them and their broader systems.
In this role, you will work in collaboration with discipline seniors, team leaders and consultant psychiatrists to improve the communication with families, assist solving problems and creating better family functioning through a family‑centred practice.
You will have experience and capability to plan with Child and Youth clinicians an integrated approach to treatment, care and support to improve outcomes and experiences of people living with mental illness and substance use or addiction.
In addition, it is expected that you will hold a small case load and provide comprehensive assessment, treatment and case management to infants, children, adolescents and young people up to the age of 25 years presenting with behavioural, emotional, psychiatric or developmental difficulties.
What We Need From You- Approved tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and membership with the appropriate professional body (Nurses & Midwifery Board/Occupational Therapy Board/Psychology Board via AHPRA, or AASW)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience (Min 7 years for OT & SW)
- Appropriate work visa
- Current Victorian Driver's License
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one and undergo a background check
