Position: Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist (Part-Time)

Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for a Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist, part-time (.50). The Speech-Language Pathologist will support school teams by providing specialized knowledge and skills in communication development and difficulties, impacting curriculum and social outcomes for students.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Have knowledge of current speech/language pathology approaches and practices.
  • Plan program goals and designated outcomes for students.
  • Implement strategies, activities, and techniques to promote communication and language development.
  • Assess communication and language learning outcomes using various assessment procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and community agencies.
  • Address diverse learning styles of students.
  • Work as a contributing team member.
  • Assist with curriculum adaptations for diverse learners.
  • Contribute to individual program plans for students with special needs.
  • Skills and Experience Required
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License.
  • Speech Language Pathologist Endorsement.
  • Understanding of school-based Speech/Language therapy.
  • Experience with data collection and monitoring student progress.
  • Public or private school experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience serving young children.
  • Interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
  • Ability to evaluate and assess students.
  • Use of appropriate assessment tools and techniques.
  • Prepare evaluation and progress reports.
  • Design and implement treatment plans and interventions.
  • Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Flexibility, creativity, organizational skills, confidentiality, and cooperativeness.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, and lift equipment/materials.
  • High levels of flexibility, articulation, concentration, and confidentiality.
  • CFY supervision is available.
