Speech-Language Pathologist (School-Based) – Job Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders for students in a school setting. The SLP will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, and other professionals to support students’ communication needs and ensure access to the academic curriculum.
Base pay range$55.00/hr - $60.00/hr

Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students with speech, language, voice, fluency, and/or communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups, based on IEP goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, counselors, and parents to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom setting.
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Consult with staff and parents on communication strategies and classroom accommodations.
- Support literacy and language development across grade levels.
- Provide in-service training and resources to school staff as needed.
- Adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure and/or Department of Education certification (as required).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred;
Clinical Fellowship (CF) candidates may be considered. - Knowledge of IDEA, IEP process, and school-based service delivery models.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- School-based setting (elementary, middle, or high school).
- Combination of pull-out and push-in therapy models.
- Caseload may include students with diverse needs, including autism, learning disabilities, developmental delays, and other communication disorders.
