The Clinical PSYD Program in Los Angeles follows a Practitioner model that emphasizes the applications of theory and science to clinical practice. The program develops competent professional health‑care psychologists skilled in delivering a variety of clinical services to diverse populations in varied settings. The program's most distinctive component is its dual emphasis on clinical expertise and clinical scholarship. Students take courses in a wide range of subjects, including statistics, theories of personality, psychological assessment, multicultural issues, and psychological practice.
Students may follow their own clinical interests and further their individual career goals by selecting a specialized series of courses, research, and field placements related to a particular area of practice.
$39 hourly. Salary will be based on candidate experience and course enrollment.
Minimum Requirements:Education:
Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology (PsyD or PhD) from an accredited college or university.
Appropriate clinical and/or teaching experience in the areas(s) of specialization and expertise.
Position Summary:Adjunct Faculty are scholars and professionals, who teach in their area(s) of specialization and expertise. The primary affiliation of adjunct faculty is not with the university.

65230 Advanced Psychopathology
:
The purpose of this course is to prepare 1st year clinical psychology doctoral students to effectively use the DSM-5-TR for the identification of relevant symptoms and the appropriate diagnosis of mental health disorders. PSY
65230 is the first psychopathology course in a two‑course sequence that PsyD students complete over two semesters. The instructor hired to teach this course ideally will be able to also teach the second psychopathology course in Spring 2026. The class meets on campus on Wednesdays from 1 PM to 3:50 PM. - PSY
65290 Clinical Interviewing I:
The purpose of this course is to help 1st year clinical psychology doctoral students develop diagnostic and therapeutic interviewing skills that are foundational to clinical practice, including rapport building, information gathering, note‑taking, and case record maintenance. The course includes role playing and other experiential exercises. The class meets on campus on Tuesdays from 9 AM to 11:50 AM. - PSY
75150 Psychodiagnostic Assessment

The purpose of this course is to train 1st year clinical psychology doctoral students in the use of formal testing procedures for assessing cognitive functioning, such as identification of appropriate measures, administration, scoring, and interpretation of results. The course also helps students develop report writing skills. The class meets on campus on Wednesdays from 9 AM to 11:50 AM.
