Initial salary placement is generally made between the start and mid-point of the posted range. New hires are not eligible to start at the maximum of the posted range.

The Housing Assistance Division (HAD) of the Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) is responsible for the administration of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. The LACDA administers over 26,000 Housing Choice Vouchers for the County of Los Angeles, as well as other targeted and grant-funded rental subsidy programs. The Housing Assistance Division partners with 10,000 landlords, helping eligible families afford safe, decent, high-quality rental housing.

The Housing Management Division (HMD) manages 3,229 public and affordable housing units located at 68 sites, serving more than 6,500 residents. HMD generates and utilizes the resources of the LACDA to provide quality affordable housing and expand opportunities to improve the quality of life in housing developments through the involvement of employees, residents, and community partners. HMD also implements and administers various funds for the improvement and modernization of the public housing developments and utilizes various grants to provide needs-based services to public housing residents, including at-risk youth and their families.

The Senior Housing Services Specialist role involves coordinating and processing applications for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program. independently performs a variety of technical, complex, and specialized duties in the administration of a variety of rental assistance programs; assumes responsibility for assignments in the more complex programmatic areas of the work and/or provides lead direction and training to lower-level staff; determines initial and continuing program eligibility and rental obligations;

explains housing programs and rights and responsibilities to applicants, residents, and property owners and managers; participates in special projects and serves as team lead for special projects as assigned by management staff; maintains manual and computerized records; and performs related duties, as assigned.

Candidates achieving a passing score in this recruitment will be placed in a candidate pool for six (6) months. This pool will be used to fill vacancies as they arise within the Housing Assistance and Housing Management Divisions.
