Primary
Purpose:
Performs maintenance activities on parks grounds, building, recreational and athletic facilities and small equipment in accordance with established procedures for proper maintenance of equipment, departmental operation and safety.
Education/Certification:Clear and valid Texas driver's license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- General knowledge of materials, equipment and methods used in the trade
- Mechanical aptitude
- Prefer 2 years' experience in landscaping, lawncare, and other agricultural work at a golf course
- Experience in operating zero-turn mowers and tractors pulling mowers that are PTO driven
- Prefer experience in managing pond algae

Tools/Equipment Used: Lawn mowers, weed eaters, pruning shears, shovels, chainsaws; small hand tools; light truck or van
Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; climbing; crawling; carrying
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding; grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching
Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis
Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, insects and wildlife including bees and snakes; dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects or vehicles; may work alone; occasional prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with others in a professional manner
