PRN Treatment Support Technician - REST Men

Gateway Rehab has an outstanding opportunity for a PRN - Treatment Support Technician 2 in our REST for Men, Center Township, PA location. Our Technician facilitates programming and ensures the integrity of the therapeutic milieu. This position receives frequent supervision and instruction.

• Facilitates discussion groups and activities.
• Monitors patient behavior.
• Conducts handbook orientation.
• Conducts searches of patient belongings, rooms, and persons.
• Acts as a liaison between clinical staff and patients.
• Assists patients in completing assessment forms.
• Assists with communication with family, friends, and referral sources.
• Provides crisis intervention.
• Transports patients to meetings, if applicable.
• Documents patient interactions in progress notes.
• Collects urine samples and completes drug screening paperwork, if necessary.
• Provides post-discharge contacts and referrals under therapist guidance.
• Monitors and documents medication intake, if applicable.
• Works in the gift shop, manages menu and nutrition needs, handles donations and patient requests, and monitors smoke breaks, if applicable.
• Completes intake paperwork as needed.
• Monitors clients’ ADLs, including chores, behaviors, and grooming.
• Remains on duty until relieved.
• Attends mandatory trainings and in-services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of 12-step programs and recovery support or addictions preferred.
• Adherence to ethical guidelines, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Ability to listen non-judgmentally and show empathy.

• High school diploma or GED.

• Some college coursework preferred.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean record for transportation duties.
• Clearance checks (PA Criminal, Child Abuse, FBI fingerprinting).
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Pass drug screening and TB testing.
• Mandatory staffing when necessary for safety.
• Must remain alert and awake during shifts.
• Recovery from substance use disorder for at least 18 months if applicable.

• Drug and alcohol rehabilitation environment.
• Favorable working conditions with minimal physical demands.
• Moderate mental demands due to patient interactions.
