We treat owners as true partners, bringing the right expertise, technology, and genuine collaboration to unlock growth at every property. We believe people come first, team and guests alike, and that high performance and integrity go hand in hand. Nimble, gracious, transparent, and accountable, we elevate every asset and every stay, and we have a good time doing it.

THE ROLE

As Area Director of Finance, you’ll provide financial leadership across a portfolio of hotels, helping each property strengthen profitability, maintain accurate financial reporting, and protect owner and investor assets. You’ll partner closely with General Managers and department leaders to turn financial data into actionable business decisions, oversee accounting practices and internal controls, and develop strong, accountable accounting teams across the portfolio.

You will:

  • Partner with General Managers, department heads, regional operations leaders, and ownership to achieve financial goals and improve hotel performance
  • Monitor financial results against budgets, forecasts, prior-year performance, market data, and owner expectations
  • Identify opportunities to improve EBITDA, GOP margins, labor productivity, departmental profitability, and cost control
  • Oversee daily revenue reporting, income journals, and the timely, accurate preparation of monthly financial statements across assigned properties
  • Review financial statements, key performance indicators, and variance reports with General Managers, investigating discrepancies and recommending corrective actions
  • Lead annual operating budgets and prepare rolling forecasts and cash flow projections in partnership with property leadership
  • Support capital planning, expenditure tracking, hotel openings, transitions, acquisitions, and other portfolio initiatives
  • Oversee month-end close activities, including journal entries, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, USALI, company policies, brand standards, management agreements, and applicable regulations
  • Lead internal control reviews and audits while identifying opportunities to strengthen processes and reduce financial risk
  • Oversee banking relationships, working capital, timely deposits, and lender reporting as applicable
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop property accounting staff in partnership with General Managers and People Services
  • Establish consistent accounting procedures and cross-training practices to support accurate reporting and smooth operations across properties
  • Provide financial guidance, training, and ongoing support to property teams while fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • Prepare special financial reports and analysis for corporate leadership, General Managers, and ownership

General Managers and department leaders have a trusted financial partner who helps them make informed decisions, improve profitability, and manage costs. Internal controls are strong, accounting practices are consistent across the portfolio, and property accounting teams are knowledgeable, supported, and accountable.

WHAT WE’R LOOKING FOR

  • 5+ years of progressive hospitality finance or hotel accounting experience
  • Previous experience as a hotel Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance
  • Multi-property hospitality finance experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of hotel financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and variance analysis
  • Experience driving profitability, improving GOP margins, and identifying revenue and cost-control opportunities
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, USALI, internal controls, and applicable financial and tax compliance requirements
  • Experience overseeing month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and daily revenue reporting
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, and develop accounting teams across multiple properties
