Join Sweco as a Werkstudent (working student) focused on bat and bird research during the upcoming season starting in May 2026. This is a student‑friendly, flexible role that supports ecological research across the Netherlands.
Responsibilities
Support experienced ecologists on field projects, collecting data on bats and goshawk‑swallows.
Operate and maintain specialized bat‑monitoring equipment.
Observe site locations, record animal presence, and identify protected species.
Travel to remote sites across the country, typically spending 2–4 hours per round (excluding travel time).
Adapt to weather conditions; projects may be postponed if weather is unsuitable.
Qualifications
Affinity for ecology and enthusiasm for field work.
Available from early April to end July 2025 (preferably until mid‑October 2025) for at least two rounds per week.
Flexible with weather‑dependent scheduling.
Valid driver’s licence B and access to a car.
Both morning and evening availability – work is scheduled late in the evening, at night and early morning.
