Seasonal Emergency Dept Registered Nurse
MEDICAL CITY DALLAS invites qualified applicants for the Seasonal Emergency Department Registered Nurse position. This is a seasonal PRN role with a full‑time schedule running from 9/21/25 to 4/4/26. The position offers an hourly rate of $62 per hour plus applicable differentials.

- All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
- Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
- Four weekend shifts are required each 4‑week schedule period.
- During the 32‑week period, the employee is required to work two holiday shifts (defined by the Department Manager or designee).
- Seasonal staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call‑off; there are no guaranteed hours.
- Seasonal staff will not be eligible for benefits, except the 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.
- Seasonal staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses.
- Registered Nurses in the seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
- Current employees of HWS or HCA Health Services are not eligible for the seasonal program for 2025‑26.
- Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.
- Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and documents the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
- Responds promptly to patient requests, striving to anticipate needs and resolve them proactively.
- Teaches patients/families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, potential side effects and follow‑up measures, translating complex medical terminology into understandable language.
- Educates patients/families/caregivers on non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention and lifestyle changes, preparing them for future self‑management.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or Satori Alternatives Management of Aggression certification obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
