The purpose of this position is to assist in maintaining the safety of the City's streets, sidewalks, and drainage ways. This is accomplished by operating heavy equipment, sealing cracks in streets, filling potholes in streets with asphalt, and pouring concrete curbs and sidewalks when necessary. Other duties may include directing traffic, ensuring worksite and work crew safety, performing maintenance on equipment and machinery, documenting work completed, and interfacing with other City employees and citizens.

This position may provide direction for other employees.
