Overview
The College of Computing at Grand Valley State University invites applications for affiliate faculty positions. Applicants must have a minimum of Master’s degree in computer science or related fields with preference to candidates with a PhD degree. The start date for this position is no later than Winter Semester 2026.
The College of Computing offers undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity, several minors, and Masters degrees in Applied Computer Science, Data Science & Analytics, Cybersecurity, and Health Informatics & Bio Informatics. The College has over 50 full-time faculty, 1100 undergraduate majors and 400 students in our graduate programs. The University has approximately 23,000 students. Grand Valley State University is located in Allendale and the greater Grand Rapids area, which offers numerous cultural and recreational opportunities.

- Teach undergraduate or graduate courses in the College of Computing.
- Membership on College of Computing shared governance committee(s) as well as other forms of community service.
- Master's Degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related fields.
- Experience in teaching courses at the undergraduate or graduate level in computing.
- Ability to teach diverse core and applied computer science courses.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
- Previous teaching experience in areas of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity or core/basic Computer Science courses.
Minimum starting salary of $65,000, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, dental, life insurance, generous employer retirement contributions, wellness resources and tuition waiver effective on date of hire.
Working ConditionsNormal academic office environment.
