Overview

As a Shift Leader at our GVSU store located at 10745 48th Ave, Allendale MI 49401, you are the captain of our bakery day or night. You understand what it takes to “Own the Night” by predicting the flow of business during a successful shift. Your hands-on leadership should include building orders, suggestive selling, baking, and interacting with customers, and you will take pride in leading the team to a productive and enjoyable night for the store.

Insomnia Cookies was founded in a college dorm room and has grown to over 300 stores globally, with a fast-paced, cookie-focused bakery + delivery concept.

• Provide incredible customer service and quality products to all guests throughout their experience in our bakeries.
• Support store leadership by maintaining operations during your shift, communicating pertinent information, monitoring production efficiency, and coaching team members to company standards and procedures.
• Prioritize and delegate tasks for baking, cashiering, packaging, and cleaning while leading the Cookie Crew.
• Support and work alongside the Cookie Crew to ensure a safe, clean working environment and adherence to safe food handling practices.
• Manage cash handling and deposits.

• At least 1 year of working experience in a customer service focused role.
• Point of Sale systems experience.
• Outstanding communication, time management, and people skills.
• Outgoing, friendly, and patient demeanor; detail-oriented and results-focused.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate others.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States; must be 18 years or older.
