Job

Responsible to use the skills and education required to install, repair and conduct preventative maintenance on all plant equipment and the facility as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance of machine equipment and hand tools;

Installation, alteration, preventative maintenance & repair of various types of production equipment;

Responsible for proper administration of LOTO, confined space and other OSHA guidelines;

Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately;

Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner;

Maintain production schedules;

Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S;

Other duties may be assigned at a later time.

Education Required/Preferred:

High School diploma or GED. Minimum of two years trade school or equivalent experience.

Experience:

Industrial experience in a similar industry preferred.

Preferred Skills/

Qualifications:

Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills;

Proficient in basic mechanical or electrical skills;

Excellent precision measuring ability;

Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems;

Understand practical aspects of preventative, predictive maintenance systems & proper lubrication selection & application.

Skills/

Competencies:

Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office package;

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;

Ability to use all general mechanical hand tools and light power tools;

Knowledge of light machine shop tools.

Other

Skills:

Ability to work well in a team environment;

Self-motivated;

Detail oriented.

Assessment:

Employee must pass Pre-employment screening.
