Mandrel Process Operator – Off Shift – Parker Hannifin

Summary of PositionResponsible for operating mandrel inspection and mold machines, setting laser O.D. and mandrel lube operation.
Essential Functions- Follow and meet standard work requirements including but not limited to:
- Selecting proper mandrel and set‑up inspection and mold and/or weld machine, preparing tank with correct lube and setting proper traverse setting.
- Operating mold machine, paying particular attention to any defects such as cracks, excess rubber, alignment of mold and smoothness of outer surface.
- Measuring the O.D. of mandrel with O.D. and/or Pi tape or sliding calipers to determine if it is within the specification limits of diameter and ovality.
- Preparing the lube tank, agitating the lubricant properly, and applying a consistent application of lubricant to the mandrel.
- Ensuring quality by identifying and eliminating known defects by cutting out any known defects and splicing ends together.
- Assuring all necessary documents are properly prepared and completed.
- Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment.
- Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities, and activities presenting unreasonable health or environmental risk.
- Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating equipment efficiently.
- Maintain production schedules.
- Participate in peer‑based teams and work to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5‑S.
- Other duties may be assigned later.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Production work preferred but not required.
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge and use of hand tools.
- Sound decision‑making skills.
- Good math, reading, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Mental and visual acuity for production of quality product.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office package.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
AssessmentEmployee must pass pre‑employment screening.
Organizational Relationships / Scope- Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader.
- Work closely with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues.

Standing is required for extended periods of time. Walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling and grasping are done on a frequent basis. Climbing, carrying, stooping, lifting and lifting overhead are performed on an occasional basis. Requires a high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions. Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
