Position: Principal Planning Officer - CLA04425

Job Description

The post holder will be required to provide professional planning support, to enable the Council to fulfil its statutory planning duties and deliver an effective planning service. The postholder will contribute primarily in the area of Development Planning but will offer support in Development Management if a service need arises.

Key objectives include:

• Leading on the preparation, monitoring, review and delivery of the Local Development Plan and other associated planning documents.

• Being a champion for Place within the Council and in dealing with our communities and
partners.

• Bringing place-based focus to the Council’s investment strategy and wider programmes for
investment in Clackmannanshire.

• Assisting in the assessment and determination of planning applications in accordance with
planning legislation and planning policies (when there is a service need).

• Contributing to the creation of sustainable, inclusive and high-quality places.

• Providing professional planning advice to internal and external stakeholders.

• Supporting the Council in delivering an efficient, transparent and a customer-focused planning service.
