Liverpool Job Type: Permanent, Full-time About the Role ZETEC Recruitment is supporting an established manufacturing business with the appointment of a Quality Systems Lead . This is a key position responsible for developing, maintaining and improving the companys quality management system. You will ensure that effective processes, controls and assurance measures are in place to support regulatory compliance, customer requirements and wider business performance.
The role would suit an experienced quality professional who understands how management systems and operational processes work together. You will be given the opportunity to influence how quality is managed across the organisation, rather than focusing solely on procedural compliance.
Key Responsibilities Design, implement and maintain the quality management system Develop the management system structure and process framework Ensure customer, regulatory and industry requirements are embedded within business processes Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and support requirements relating to IATF 16949 Manage the internal audit programme and support external certification and customer audits Lead document control and management system change activities Review process performance data and identify opportunities for improvement Promote risk-based thinking and effective process controls Carry out process mapping, risk assessments and process reviews Work with Health and Safety, IT and operational teams to develop an integrated management system Identify root causes, systemic weaknesses and areas requiring corrective action Promote quality awareness and support the continued development of a positive quality culture About You Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience within engineering, manufacturing, quality or a related discipline Good working knowledge of ISO 9001 Knowledge of IATF 16949 would be beneficial Experience developing or improving management systems within a manufacturing environment Practical experience of process mapping, risk assessment and process control Qualified internal auditor Lead auditor qualification would be advantageous Understanding of automotive quality tools, including APQP, PFMEA, control plans, SPC, MSA and PPAP
Good analytical , problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills Confident working with and influencing stakeholders at different levels Able to translate technical and regulatory requirements into practical business processes Commercially aware, pragmatic and focused on process effectiveness
The Person You will be comfortable challenging existing working practices and introducing practical controls that manage risk without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. You will be able to see the bigger picture, understand how different processes interact and align quality management with operational and commercial objectives. This is a permanent opportunity to take ownership of a business-critical management system within an established manufacturing environment.
