Senior Data Scientist | Simulation, Optimization & Sensor Analytics

Develop analytical solutions that translate complex operational data into decisions that support mission readiness.

At ILIAS A&D BV, part of the ILIAS Group, you work within the Defense Capability Management unit. You design models and analytical solutions that support logistics, maintenance planning and operational performance.

You work with data from aircraft, naval systems and sensor driven environments. This includes use cases such as maintenance optimization, predictive insights and scenario simulation, where models directly support real world decisions.

Your work supports systems that enable operational readiness. You develop models that help organizations plan, optimize and respond to real operational conditions.

You work with complex datasets that combine sensor data, operational inputs and system constraints. Data is often incomplete, fragmented or evolving, requiring structured thinking and strong modeling skills.

You design simulations, build optimization models and analyze time series data to support decisions in logistics, maintenance and operations.

You improve planning, increase asset availability and support better decision making. Your work helps organizations operate more efficiently in environments where timing and reliability matter.

You design and develop analytical models that support operational decision making across complex systems.

• Build simulation models using tools such as Sim Py or similar frameworks
• Develop and solve optimization models using CPLEX or comparable solvers
• Analyze sensor and time series data to extract actionable insights
• Translate operational challenges into structured analytical approaches
• Work with Python using libraries such as pandas, Num Py, matplotlib and scikit-learn
• Integrate models into applications and workflows together with engineering teams
• Validate and improve models based on real world data and feedback

• Fleet Management through optimization of maintenance and asset availability
• Expeditionary Operations through simulation of operational scenarios and constraints
• Total Asset Visibility through analysis of sensor and system data
• MRO and Sustainment through predictive models and maintenance optimization

• 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Operations Research or similar roles
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Experience with simulation modeling (e.g. Sim Py or similar)
• Experience with mathematical optimization (CPLEX preferred or similar solvers)
• Experience working with sensor or time series data in applied environments
• Ability to translate complex and ambiguous problems into structured models
• Experience working with data from logistics, maintenance or system driven environments
• Familiarity with scalable environments, including containerization or distributed data processing
• Strong analytical mindset and structured way of working
