Stocking, Supply Chain & Logistics, Inventory Control & Analysis, Distribution/ General Warehouse
Simply Green is a growing international wholesale distributor of cannabis and smoking accessories. From our warehouse in Almere, we supply retailers and distributors across Europe.
We are looking for an experienced Stock Controller to take ownership of the accuracy, integrity and visibility of our inventory.
You will make sure that what is physically in the warehouse matches what is recorded in Net Suite. When those numbers do not agree, your job is not simply to correct the balance it is to understand why the discrepancy happened and help prevent it from happening again.
This is both an operational and analytical role. You will work directly with physical stock while also using inventory data, reports and Excel to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
TasksStock Accuracy & Inventory Control
- Take ownership of stock accuracy between physical inventory and Net Suite.
- Design and run a structured cycle-counting programme, prioritising high-value, fast-moving and higher-risk stock.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies to root cause rather than simply adjusting the stock figure.
- Maintain accurate bin and warehouse-location data across the product catalogue.
- Identify unusual stock movements, inventory trends and risks affecting stock accuracy or availability.
- Spot stock and supply issues early and elevate them where appropriate.
- Control stock counts, inventory audits and stock-reconciliation activities.
Inventory Analysis & Reporting
- Analyse inventory data and produce regular stock-control reports.
- Monitor ageing, short-dated, expired, slow-moving and obsolete stock.
- Identify inventory at risk before it becomes a write-off or availability problem.
- Identify trends, exceptions and recurring problems within inventory data.
- Provide clear information and recommendations to Warehouse, Procurement and other stakeholders.
- Help improve the quality and reliability of inventory reporting.
Goods In
- Receive supplier deliveries and check them against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect quantities, specifications and condition before goods are accepted.
- Create accurate Item Receipts in Net Suite.
- Record lot numbers, batch information and expiry dates correctly.
- Identify shortages, overages, damage and other discrepancies.
- Move affected stock to the Stock Discrepancy location and elevate issues for investigation.
Put-Away & Location Management
- Assign stock locations based on factors such as weight, turnover and pick frequency.
- Maintain accurate bin locations and day-to-day location integrity.
- Help improve stock placement to support efficient warehouse operations.
- Keep the goods-in area clean, safe and organised.
Customer Returns & Inventory Issues
- Receive and inspect returned products.
- Process physical returns accurately in Net Suite.
- Determine whether returned stock can return to sellable inventory or needs to be quarantined.
- Act as a key link between the warehouse and Customer Service on inventory-related issues and claims investigations.
- Provide stock information and evidence needed to resolve inventory-related customer issues.
Stock & Supplier Intelligence
- Track actual supplier delivery dates against promised dates.
- Record supplier short-ships, over-ships and quality issues.
- Analyse recurring supplier and inventory patterns and raise concerns when appropriate.
- Provide Procurement with reliable stock and supplier-performance information.
- Highlight potential availability risks before they become urgent.
During peak or seasonal periods, and in consultation with the Warehouse Manager, you may occasionally support other activities within the department.
RequirementsEssential
- 3+ years of experience in stock control, inventory management, goods-in or a similar inventory-focused role.
- A track record of taking responsibility for inventory accuracy.
- Hands-on experience with an ERP or Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Experience investigating stock discrepancies and identifying root causes.
- Experience working with batch-, lot- or expiry-controlled stock.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with inventory data and reports.
