Summary
This position is designed for Alpena Community College Nursing students currently enrolled in the Clinical Nursing Program. Employees will work as either Patient Safety Companions or Patient Care Technicians, depending on eligibility and progress in the nursing program, throughout their education Patient Safety Companion provides close observation for patients requiring continuous protection from harm, reporting directly to a unit or department leader for oversight.
The Clinical Assistant supports RNs and LPNs in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and cleanliness.

Certifications and Licensures
N/A
Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current enrollment in ACC Nursing Program
- CNA, LPN, EMT, MA, or PCT certification or completion of one semester of nursing clinical education for Patient Care Technician role
Other Information
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Computer skills required
- Good organizational skills, teamwork, and ability to work under pressure
- Good judgment and interpersonal skills for effective communication
- Operate equipment as per orientation, policies, and procedures
- Participate in training and competencies related to the role
- Perform role-specific skills as outlined during orientation
