Position Overview:
The Occupational Therapist will provide outpatient therapy services (with some acute care), delegating responsibilities to COTAs and Aides. This role focuses on patient-centered care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in line with OT standards, physician orders, and facility policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patient function through formal/informal testing, including skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive functions.

• Develop individualized, goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient tolerance.

• Submit written treatment regimes for physician authorization and update as needed; co-sign COTA verbal orders.

• Establish and coordinate treatment schedules with patients, families, and caregivers.

• Educate patients and caregivers regarding condition, prognosis, treatment options, and interventions.

• Provide supervision for COTAs, Home Health Aides, and students per regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• Current Michigan OT license – required

• 2+ years of OT experience – required

• Primarily outpatient experience (with some acute care) – required

• Pediatric experience – required

• BLS (AHA) – required
