Position Description: The Senior Accountant at Davidson Homes will oversee a variety of responsibilities within the General Ledger, Financial Accounting & Reporting, Loan Accounting, and Accounts Payable areas of the Finance Department. The Senior Accountant role will be vital in driving financial efficiency and supporting the overall financial health of the company.
This is an on-site role in our Alpharetta, GA office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must have a demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP, accounting procedures and controls.
- Compliance with US GAAP and corporate policy:
- Preparation of general ledger journal entries and reconciliations
- Internal and external financial reporting
- Participate in financial standards setting
- Coordination of accounting matters with other departments, areas, and/or divisions.
- Responsible for challenging existing procedures for efficiency and introducing improved processes or changes as necessary.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with annual audit preparations.
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
- Education and experience requirements
- Working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others.
- Strong financial skills; great attention to detail and demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize work assignments, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet established deadlines while working independently.
- Master's degree in Accounting preferred.
