Senior Tax Manager/Tax Director

A Senior Tax Manager/Tax Director who performs a wide variety of tax‑related tasks, supervises tax staff, and reports to the tax partner.
Responsibilities- Review personal and business tax returns, including complex returns.
- Approve all returns except those involving specialized issues.
- Act as a resource for tax staff and senior accountants.
- Supervise and review preparation of tax projections and prepare projections for complex client situations.
- Assist accounting staff in client meetings.
- Develop a general understanding of firm philosophy and tax opinions.
- Review tax accruals and associated working papers.
- Keep firm personnel informed of changes and developments in the taxation area.
- Analyze tax notices, draft responses and represent clients before tax agencies.
- Participate in tax department administrative projects.
- Supervise all assigned personnel.
- Review productivity, evaluate and report to partners.
- Work with shareholders to establish standards for tax staff and counsel members.
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual sales/use and property tax returns for clients.
- Establish good working relationships with partners, peers and staff.
- Demonstrate initiative and interest in continued growth of the firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related program.
- Active CPA or EA license required.
- Advanced degree (Master’s in taxation preferred).
- 5+ years of tax accounting experience within a public accounting firm.
- 2+ years supervisory experience, including reviewing staff.
- Highly effective people manager focused on developing a cohesive team through coaching and mentoring.
- Collaborative approach while developing organization’s capabilities.
- Attention to detail, thoroughness, highly organized, and motivated to advance within the firm.
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Quick Books, Accounting CS, and Ultra Tax फ्लैस्व्बिश.
- Tax provision and FIN 48 analysis experience preferred.
