Job Summary /Objective:The Accountant II is an experienced accounting professional who independently supports core accounting activities, including journal entries, general ledger and bank reconciliations, subledger activity, assigned balance-sheet accounts, and designated portions of the month-end and year-end close processes.
This role supports internal controls, financial reporting, audits, tax activities, and process improvements while partnering with accounting leadership on review, policy, and approval activities.
Primary Responsibilities:- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain assigned areas of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, subledger reconciliations, and assigned balance-sheet account reconciliations.
- Support assigned portions of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including close activities, analyses, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain and update accounting records, account files, and documentation for assigned areas.
- Prepare assigned financial reporting support and provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses as requested.
- Support internal controls by following established processes, maintaining appropriate documentation, and helping identify opportunities to strengthen controls.
- Assist with audit preparation, audit support, and fieldwork requests by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to assigned requests.
- Support tax-related activities, including gathering documentation, preparing assigned schedules, and assisting with tax payments or returns as directed.
- Research accounting questions and assist with compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable rules and regulations.
- Analyze budgets, expense activity, and cost variances as assigned.
- Assist with process improvements, system enhancements, and ad hoc projects as needed.
- Exercise ownership and sound judgment in assigned areas and assist less experienced team members when/as appropriate.
- Contribute to departmental priorities by performing additional duties and special assignments as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university.
- 4 or more years of experience in audit and/or corporate accounting.
Qualifications:
- CPA or CPA track preferred
- Project accounting or job-costing experience preferred.
- Net Suite and Quick Base experience a plus.
- In depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Innovative problem-solver with proven results.
- Demonstrates ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to assist less experienced team members.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external constituents.

Work is conducted in a general office environment with long periods of sitting and computer work. Possible hybrid Role.
