We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer IV to join our team at ARSEAL! The Electrical Engineer IV is a senior-level engineering role responsible for leading and executing complex electrical engineering tasks across multiple projects with minimal supervision. This individual provides departmental planning, technical leadership, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
Key Responsibilities- Project & Technical Leadership
- Leads the development of innovative and technically sound electrical engineering solutions across multiple concurrent projects.
- Prepares detailed electrical design packages, technical specifications, and bid documents for power distribution systems and equipment.
- Develops and manages project schedules, estimates, and budgets for assigned engineering tasks.
- Departmental Planning
- Assists in departmental planning, aligning engineering capacity with project demands and long-term company goals.
- Works collaboratively with senior leadership to establish departmental goals, procedures, and resource plans.
- Reviews the work and performance of department staff, providing constructive feedback and redlines to ensure technical accuracy and compliance.
- Supports staff development by providing training opportunities, guidance on technical issues, and career coaching.
- Acts as a technical mentor to junior engineers and designers, sharing expertise and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Code & Standards Compliance
- Ensures all work complies with applicable codes and industry standards, including NFPA 70 and 49 CFR 195 – All Sub-parts.
- Applies advanced knowledge of standards in the preparation of designs, calculations, and documentation.
- Technical Expertise
- Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in at least two specialized electrical engineering domains within the company.
- Provides cross-disciplinary coordination by interpreting and integrating civil, structural, and mechanical drawings.
- Specifies medium-voltage electrical distribution equipment, such as switch gear, MVMCCs, motor starters, drives, and transformers.
- Guides design teams to ensure solutions are cost-effective, maintainable, and constructible.
- Education & Credentials
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
- Experience
- 10+ years of progressive engineering and design experience, preferably in the oil & gas, utilities, or industrial sectors.
- Technical Qualifications
- Power system analysis skills specifically using ETAP or SKM is a non‑negotiable and must have, preferably both.
- Demonstrated expertise in power distribution systems, electrical safety, and equipment specification.
- Recognized within the company as an SME in at least two technical areas.
- Experienced in developing and managing estimates, schedules, and budgets for engineering tasks.
- Completes a minimum of 15 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) annually in relevant technical areas.
