Requirements
- B.S. degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or related Engineering field.
- Over 6 years of experience in the design and development of medical devices.
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (preferably Solid Works), GD&T, and foundational mechanical design concepts.
- Proven track record of leading design projects for Class II or III medical devices.
- Strong knowledge of risk management, verification/validation testing, and best practices for documentation.
- Ability to tackle complex technical challenges and successfully see projects through to completion in a cross‑functional setting.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly regarding design documentation and traceability.
- Direct design and development efforts for designated subsystems or product components through every stage of the Product Development Process.
- Create and enhance 3D CAD models, detailed schematics, specifications, and tolerance analyses in line with design control and DFM/DFA principles.
- Execute and document design reviews, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and risk evaluations to guarantee reliability and patient safety.
- Collaborate with various teams (Systems, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Technical Operations, Project Leads) to convert user requirements and system specifications into actionable design directives.
- Assist with prototype manufacturing, design verification and validation testing, and root cause investigations for design‑related issues.
- Implement solid engineering principles in areas like mechanical design, fluidics, and electromechanical integration to create effective solutions.
- Partner with Technical Operations teams to ensure designs are feasible for manufacturing, cost‑efficient, and scalable.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers within the team by providing technical oversight.
- Contribute to intellectual property development via design innovations and technical documentation.
