Salary: $55.00 USD Hourly - $61.00 USD Hourly

We are seeking an experienced Dev Ops Engineer to support Verizon's mission‑critical IT applications. In this role, you will operate within a high‑visibility engineering team responsible for delivering large and complex business initiatives that drive Wholesale operations and customer experience. You will support multiple enterprise and maintenance releases, ensure compliance with security and SOX audit standards, and contribute to the modernization of the billing ecosystem through cloud‑native and microservices‑based transformation.

• Configure, maintain, and optimize application servers and system processes to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
• Monitor system health and proactively address performance bottlenecks and vulnerabilities.
• Independently troubleshoot and resolve production issues end‑to‑end, ensuring minimal impact to mission‑critical operations.
• Automate recurring operational activities, refine workflows, and document system changes to improve reliability and engineering productivity.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery cycles across multiple projects and enterprise releases.
• Ensure all solutions adhere to enterprise security, compliance, and SOX audit standards.
• Contribute to digital transformation efforts by modernizing legacy components and deploying cloud‑native services.
• Work with large, complex systems leveraging microservices architecture, containerization, and large database environments.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters, deploy services using Docker, and optimize application runtime.
• Monitor security vulnerability reports, track fixes, and ensure timely remediation across systems.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure new features and deployments satisfy Dev Ops, platform, and security governance.
• Work directly with engineering, security, and production support teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Communicate technical issues, risks, and solutions clearly across diverse teams.
• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced Agile environment.

• 6+ years building and operating microservices‑based applications using Spring Boot in Kubernetes environments.
• 6+ years of experience with Cloud platforms and databases (Oracle Cloud strongly preferred).
• 3+ years managing Kubernetes clusters, Docker, and containerization technologies.
• 3+ years with Tomcat.
• 3+ years with Linux/Unix systems administration.
• 3+ years using Dev Ops & Cloud tools such as Git/Stash, Fortify, Jenkins, etc.
• Strong Oracle Database skills, including reviewing and tuning complex SQL queries.
• Experience working in Agile teams with CI/CD‑driven development culture.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, time‑management, and communication skills.

• Working knowledge of Kafka and IBM MQ.
• Familiarity with JSON, Camel, and APIGEE for API and integration development.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of application development or technology experience.
