Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough post‑incident reviews to identify root causes, document findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain and improve incident management workflows, ensuring alignment with ITIL best practices.
  • Monitor incident trends, proactively identifying potential issues and taking preventive measures.
  • Oversee the operational effectiveness of service management tools, ensuring they support efficient incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Collaborate with service owners and business stakeholders to ensure SLAs and KPIs are met and continuously optimized.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for service management processes, ensuring adherence to ITIL standards.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives and optimization efforts across the service management lifecycle.
  • Design, implement, and manage scalable systems and infrastructure to support critical business services and applications.
  • Perform proactive system monitoring, health checks, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to systems, applications, and network infrastructure.
  • Provide on‑call support for critical incidents outside of regular working hours, as required.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance service management and incident response practices.
  • Identify automation opportunities within service management and systems engineering to streamline processes, reduce response times, and eliminate manual steps.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts or tools for incident resolution, data collection, and reporting, allowing for faster response times and increased productivity.
  • Evaluate and implement automation platforms (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or custom scripts) to improve workflows and reduce operational overhead.
Requirements

  • Expertise in incident management processes, problem management, root cause analysis, and post‑incident reviews.
  • Proficient in systems administration, server architecture, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Hands‑on experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, New Relic) and alerting systems.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure concepts.
