The Project Scheduler reports to the Director of Project Management and is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining project schedules to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of project objectives.
Job Description:The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining project schedules to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of project objectives. This role involves coordinating with program and project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather schedule data, create detailed timelines, monitor progress, identify risks, and provide accurate schedule forecasts and reports.
Key Responsibilities Schedule Development & Maintenance- Develop and update project schedules using tools such as MS Project, Jira, or other scheduling software.
- Establish baseline schedules and maintain version control.
- Define activity sequences, durations, milestones, dependencies, and resource allocations.
- Track schedule progress and update status on a regular basis.
- Identify delays, variances, and critical path changes; recommend mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with program and project managers and discipline leads to collect schedule information.
- Communicates schedule impacts and changes to stakeholders.
- Facilitate schedule review meetings and support project planning sessions.
- Perform schedule risk analyses and what-if scenario modeling.
- Forecast completion dates and potential schedule conflicts.
- Support claims analysis and delay documentation when required.
- Ensure schedule documentation aligns with company standards and contractual requirements.
- Maintain accurate historical data for future planning benchmarking.
- Support project control processes, including cost-schedule integration where applicable.
- 2–5+ years of experience in project scheduling or project controls.
- Experience using scheduling software such as MS Project, Jira or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and the critical path method (CPM).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and reporting tools.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
