Tier4
Group is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, high-availability network environments. This role is ideal for someone with solid hands‑on networking experience who enjoys troubleshooting, improving infrastructure, and supporting mission‑critical systems that truly matter.
$65,000.00/yr - $/yr
What You’ll Do- Monitor network availability, performance, and reliability; proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure maximum uptime.
- Deploy, support, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
. - Implement and support network security controls to protect systems and data from cyber threats.
- Troubleshoot network outages and performance issues using best‑practice methodologies to quickly assess, remediate, and stabilize environments.
- Perform technical analysis during incidents, document root causes, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with team members to develop, update, and enforce network standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date network documentation in alignment with industry standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users and internal IT teams.
- Communicate clearly with management, delivering regular updates, reports, and technical summaries.
- Stay current with emerging networking technologies, tools, and industry trends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong working knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols:
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs
. - Hands‑on experience with networking hardware from vendors such as Sonic Wall, Cambium, Uni Fi, Meraki, Fortinet, Watch Guard
, or similar. - Solid understanding of network security best practices
. - Experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Auvik, Wireshark, Solar Winds
, or equivalents. - Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology
, or a related field. - 2+ years of experience in a network engineering, network support, or similar role.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA
