We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer with strong experience in Power BI, SQL, and reporting engineering to design, develop, and maintain data-driven business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will transform complex data into meaningful dashboards, reports, and insights that support business decision-making.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Alpharetta, GA is $90K - $100K & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
• Gather reporting requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into effective BI solutions.
• Develop optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and data models.
• Build and manage Power BI data models using Power Query and DAX.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, files, APIs, and cloud platforms.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, performance, and security of reports and dashboards.
• Implement row-level security and appropriate access controls in Power BI.
• Optimize report performance, data refresh processes, and SQL queries.
• Schedule and monitor dataset refreshes and troubleshoot data or reporting issues.
• Create standardized reporting solutions and reusable data visualization components.
• Document data sources, reporting logic, technical designs, and support procedures.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, developers, and business teams.
• Provide user support, training, and guidance on Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Participate in testing, deployment, version control, and production support activities.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Power BI Developer, BI Developer, Reporting Engineer, or similar role.

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.

Advanced knowledge of:

• Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
• Power Query
• DAX
• Data modeling and visualization
• Dashboards and KPI reporting
• Complex queries and joins
• Subqueries and common table expressions
• Window functions
• Views and stored procedures
• Query optimization

Experience designing scalable and user-friendly reporting solutions.

Understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, or other relational databases.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data integration.
• Familiarity with Power BI deployment pipelines, work spaces, gateways, and administration.
