Sherwood Concrete is seeking a strategic and hands‑on Director of Concrete Operations to lead our growing concrete division. This high‑impact leadership role will oversee all field operations and estimating functions for concrete scopes across multifamily construction projects in the Southeast. As a key member of our management team, you’ll develop scalable systems, manage budgets and resources, and drive performance and profitability across multiple projects.

Position Details
  • Position Title: Director of Concrete Operations

  • Pay Range: $65,000 – $95,000 per year (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership:
    Oversee all concrete field operations and estimating processes; mentor team members as needed.
  • Strategic Planning:
    Develop and implement processes that streamline operations, drive efficiency, and support long‑term growth.
  • Estimating & Sales:
    Perform take‑offs, create bids, and manage proposals using CRM tools. Follow through on client communication and job acquisition.
  • Project Oversight:
    Manage multiple concrete projects from preconstruction to closeout, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget targets are achieved.
  • Budget & Financial Management:
    Control division expenses, monitor labor and material costs, and analyze profitability through P&L reviews.
  • Safety Compliance:
    Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols across all job sites.
  • Resource Management:
    Direct material procurement, equipment maintenance, and workforce allocation across projects.
  • Client & Vendor Relations:
    Build strong relationships with GCs, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Process Improvement:
    Lead continuous improvement initiatives in workflow, production, and quality.
  • Talent Development:
    Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new staff; develop internal leaders and succession planning strategies.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience in concrete construction, preferably in multifamily new builds.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete scopes and ability to read construction documents.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines, priorities, and teams across project sites.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally as needed.
