Job SummaryThe Senior Electrical Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing multiple large-scale commercial electrical construction projects from pre‑construction through closeout. This senior‑level role provides strategic leadership, mentorship to project teams, and accountability for schedule, budget, safety, and quality performance across assigned projects. The position is based in Alpharetta, GA, with up to 50% travel required for project site visits.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for complex commercial electrical construction projects, from take‑offs through closeout
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously with full responsibility for cost, schedule, quality, and safety performance
- Develop project execution plans, staffing plans, budgets, and schedules
- Plan, allocate, and manage labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors efficiently
- Coordinate owner‑furnished and contractor‑furnished materials with owners and general contractors
- Provide senior‑level leadership, mentorship, and coaching to project managers, superintendents, and field electricians
- Manage subcontractors, contracts, vendor relationships, and procurement strategies
- Develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Review, negotiate, and approve change orders, RFIs, submittals, and contractual documentation
- Prepare, review, and approve progress billings, pay applications, and closeout documentation
- Lead pre‑construction meetings, coordination meetings, and executive‑level project updates
- Identify scope changes, project risks, and cost impacts; implement mitigation and recovery strategies
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and jobsite safety standards
- Serve as a primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, and senior leadership team
- Ensure effective communication and alignment across internal teams and external partners
- Perform additional senior‑level duties as assigned
- Minimum of 12–15+ years of experience in commercial electrical construction
- Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Project Manager or lead Project Manager on large, complex projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, NEC codes, and commercial construction standards
- Demonstrated ability to manage large project budgets, schedules, manpower, and subcontractors
- Experience mentoring and leading project management and field teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and construction project management software
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive‑level communication
- Ability to manage multiple high‑value projects and meet critical deadlines
- Willingness to travel up to 50% for project site visits
- Valid driver's license required
- Experience working on retail, higher education, or distribution center projects
- Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
- Familiarity with cost tracking, forecasting, and construction accounting
