Base pay range

$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

Position Overview

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive health and safety programs across Tebarco Mechanical's operations. This role focuses on promoting a strong culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory guidelines, minimizing risks, and protecting employees on commercial and industrial mechanical projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and related systems.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Program Development and Compliance

  • Evaluate safety practices, procedures, facilities, and job sites to assess risks and ensure adherence to OSHA, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develop, execute, and enforce health and safety plans, policies, and procedures to foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Monitor ongoing compliance through regular inspections, audits, and policy enforcement.
  • Oversee and coordinate on-site job hazard analyses (JHA) for all projects.
  • Coordinate and deliver project‑specific safety trainings, including fall protection, scaffold use, forklift operation, mobile elevated work platforms, crane/rigging, and other relevant topics.

Training and Engagement

  • Conduct regular training sessions on health and safety matters, accident prevention, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Administer and monitor the implementation of all required protective equipment across job sites.
  • Use a continuous improvement approach to engage field personnel, superintendents, and leadership in achieving company safety objectives.

Incident Management and Reporting

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, or near‑misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures or improvements.
  • Handle worker’s compensation claims and related documentation.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit all required records, reports, and statistics related to health, safety, incidents, and awareness programs.

Risk Assessment and Continuous Improvement

  • Identify improvement opportunities, recommend solutions to safety issues, and implement new prevention measures.
  • Perform data analysis and risk assessments to inform policy development and program enhancements.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Safety Manager, preferably in the construction industry on large commercial and industrial projects.
  • BS/BA in safety management, occupational health and safety, or equivalent relevant field experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal health and safety guidelines, including OSHA standards.
  • Proven ability to produce detailed reports, develop policies, conduct data analysis, and perform risk assessments.
  • Excellent organizational, motivational, and observational skills with outstanding attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Current certifications: OSHA 30‑hour, OSHA 500‑hour, First Aid, and CPR.
  • Hands‑on experience with crane and rigging operations required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
