DescriptionOur Maintenance Mechanic supports Mativ’s Sustainable & Adhesive Solutions Function. This individual will diagnose equipment problems and plan for necessary repairs including disassembly and reassembly, fabrication and/or rebuilding of parts, rigging, and machine installation. Follows instructions from supervisor and implements emergency and scheduled repairs. Conducts facility and equipment inspections and initiates repairs as necessary. Performs preventative maintenance on facility and manufacturing equipment with other Maintenance personnel.
The shift schedule is 6am-6pm. This job requires being on-call nights and weekends on a rotating basis with other members of the department.
Responsibilities- Installs, maintains, and repairs all mechanical equipment and basic electrical controls which are necessary to support all production machines and facility functions operating at specified levels.
- Diagnoses equipment problems and plans for necessary repairs including disassembly and reassembly, fabrication and/or rebuilding of parts, rigging and machine installation. Follows instructions from supervisor and implements emergency and scheduled repairs. Conducts facility and equipment inspections and initiates repairs as necessary.
- Performs preventative maintenance on facility and manufacturing equipment with other Maintenance personnel
- This job requires being on call nights and weekends on a rotating basis with other members of the department.
Required
- High mechanical aptitude with a concentration in the following areas:
Metal fabrication, machinist, welding, hydraulics/pneumatics - Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
- Operator controls and interfaces.
- PLC Troubleshooting
- Instrument Calibration
- Basic electrical aptitude to work with other Maintenance Personnel
Preferred
- Knowledge of PLC software and ladder logic for troubleshooting and Operator Interfaces a plus
- Requires own tools, (mechanical and basic electrical)
Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment:
- Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot.
- Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors.
- May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards.
Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including:
- Safety Glasses
- Bump Caps
- Protective Gloves, when performing certain tasks
- Hearing Protection, when required
- Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks.
- Respirator
While performing the duties of this job the employee must meet the physical demands:
- Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds.
- Be able to work 12-hour shifts.
- Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk.
- Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in awkward or tight spaces.
- Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
