The role will oversee existing processes, develop new ones, and lead a team of professionals in a hybrid schedule (3 days in‑office, 2 days remote).
The ideal candidate has advanced knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, regulations, risk assessment, root‑cause analysis, and leading teams.
- Lead a team of food safety and quality assurance professionals to develop and manage policies, regulatory compliance, and program execution.
- Assist in the development of policies and programs that mitigate food safety risks.
- Continuously improve policy and program documentation and review relevance and compliance.
- Ensure consistency with FDA, FSIS, and FDA Food Code.
- Work cross‑functionally to support the end‑to‑end quality program.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product Development, and Procurement to establish quality protocols for new suppliers and products.
- Lead product quality and food safety continuous improvement activities through data transformation and analysis.
- Maintain a positive safety culture with a focus on brand protection, collaboration, and education.
Bachelor’s in Food Science or related field and 7+ years experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, HACCP, and a strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations.
- Experience in managing Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, Technical Services, or similar functions.
- Food industry and restaurant operations experience.
- Proven team‑leadership skills.
- Ability to establish quality assurance procedures/policies and produce documented instructions.
- Guest‑focused, brand protection mindset.
- Serv Safe certification (proctor preferred).
- Pest control experience preferred.
- USDA experience preferred.
- HACCP/GFSI certification preferred.
- FDA Food Code experience preferred.
- Influence others to deliver results and work effectively at all levels.
- Independent and team‑oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Word, PowerPoint, & Visio.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
15%–30% travel. Mostly sit‑or‑stand work with occasional lifting up to 50 lb.
