R & D Director - Manufacturing Alpharetta
Highly customer service focused food manufacturing R & D Director role. Provides end to end hands‑on and strategic quality oversight related to compliance, specifications, auditing, and reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with USDA and FDA regulations.
- Ensure compliance with auditing scheme and GFSI certification maintenance.
- Develop, implement, and monitor processes and procedures to ensure the plant is audit ready.
- Lead Customer and third‑party audits
- Ability to compose and implement food safety program, policies, training and conduct / maintain associated trainings
- Pest Control
- Chemical Control
- Preventive Maintenance
- Allergen Control
- Environmental Monitoring
- Approved Supplier
- Sanitation
- Verification / Validation
- Record Management
- Monitoring of procedures and direct observations
- Corrective action procedures and records
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Track / trend consumer complaints and report KPI to the team.
- Onboard new products to ensure all quality and food safety requirements are met.
- Ensure product packaging is in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal / external specifications.
- Gather / log / maintain raw material specifications.
- Gather / log / maintain Customer (plant) audit/QA records.
- Work with Customer and supplier to create labels / review / approve / record / maintain.
- Work internally and externally to ensure scale up/commercialization is flawless.
- Ensure that R&D projects involving product development are delivered in accordance with customer time and all related documentation.
- Other such duties as assigned.
- Experience in USDA and FDA processing.
- Experience with CPG products and packaging.
- Understanding of Quality and Good Safety Process controls and how to apply them to get desired result.
- Bachelor's degree (B.
A.) from four‑year college or university; or four to six years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Base salary 100k-120k plus Benefits and Excellent growth potential.
