Overview

The Copper and Brass Division focuses on aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass, bronze and other nonferrous metals across North America, including Canada and Mexico, serving Aerospace, Automotive, Electrical, Medical and Oil & Gas industries.

This position works directly on or around motor vehicle equipment and is identified as safety sensitive. Pre-employment drug testing may be required where applicable by law.

Responsibilities
  • Direct, lead, and supervise the Outside Sales function in the development, implementation and execution of a sales/marketing plan that maximizes ROI while meeting or exceeding customer expectations in providing quality products and services.
  • Determine the pounds of products sold by Thyssen Krupp Materials NA consumed in the region (Aerospace focus preferred).
  • Determine customer-buying motivators and develop competitor profiles.
  • Conduct SWOT analyses of Thyssen Krupp Materials NA vs. customer buying motivation and competitor strategies.
  • Establish benchmarks for Thyssen Krupp Materials NA participation and develop a regional marketing plan.
  • Profile transaction-level pricing and adjust pricing to meet volume and profit objectives.
  • Determine advertising and marketing aid requirements and cascade market plans to the territorial sales organization.
  • Develop territorial sales plans for each sales area in collaboration with territory sales personnel; create customer profiles with sales input.
  • Capture competitive pricing data and profile Thyssen Krupp Materials NA pricing versus competitors.
  • Determine customer inventory requirements, submit item requests for authorization, monitor item activity and adjust as required.
  • Coordinate outside/inside sales activities and operating, credit processes.
  • Establish and monitor goals and objectives, monitor selling expense budgets, conduct quarterly performance reviews and bi-weekly sales meetings with sales personnel.
  • Make sales calls on selected accounts with each salesperson and provide training for outside sales personnel as required.
  • Provide assistance to regional and corporate credit managers to improve receivables turnover.
  • Other duties as assigned consistent with this role.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • 4-year degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Computer literate
  • 3-5 years outside sales
  • Experience in TQM, ISO
    9000
  • Understanding of finance for non-financial managers, strategic selling and time management
  • Safety mindset

Preferred Requirements

  • Completion/working towards MGA
  • Metallurgy training and/or experience
  • Leadership and team-building experience
  • Training in strategic planning and motivation
  • 1-2 years in operations
  • 1-2 years inside sales
Compensation

$125,000/year base salary + Performance Incentive Compensation
