Tech Sales Rep I – Arclin
OverviewArclin, Inc. is seeking a Technical Sales Representative I for our Corporate Office. The role reports to the Sr. Business Director Amines & Dispersants and focuses on providing sales and technical support to customers in our Amines and Dispersants product lines, enhancing customer delight and strengthening competitive barriers.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve customers’ technical issues, including product and process application strategies, new product development, and process efficiency improvements.
- Foster open communication with customers, R&T laboratories, Sales, and other technical service laboratories to ensure best available technology for their application.
- Participate in strategic contract negotiations and provide input on market pricing decisions.
- Maintain record keeping for all reports according to established guidelines (contact reports, trial reports, technical service reports, LWO reports, etc.).
- Update customer forecasts and budgets based on demand and market dynamics.
- Integrate Arclin technology with customer process understanding to develop strategies for improving process performance and ROI.
- Network at trade shows, develop internal and external support contacts, anticipate customer needs, and implement ideas.
- Identify and execute new business opportunities.
- Improve process efficiency and capability by applying statistical process control philosophies and techniques; support data management initiatives.
- Recommend resource needs, including personnel and capital improvements, to management.
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial chemicals or a similar field, with account management/sales exposure preferred.
- Strong grasp of the technical and scientific aspects of the product lines and their application in various markets.
- Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills; willingness to initiate contact with new customers.
- Experience with data analysis (SPC) software – QC Analyst, DOE software (Stat‑ease), and data management tools.
- Proficiency with common PC software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab).
- Willingness to travel up to 50% and be on‑call for customer issues.
