Senior Java/J2EE Developer

Job Description:
- Must have Java and J2EE/Spring (EJB and JMS) development experience (70-80% of the job will be Java)
- Microsoft Dot Net experience is a plus (approximately 10% of the time)
Skills required:
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional groups as required
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences, including management and cross-functional groups
- Ability to lead small to mid-size technical teams, including strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and management of multiple assignments at the same time
- Must be self-directed and provide up-to-date information on progress and issues
- Ability to conduct in-depth research and work through complex problems to reach workable solutions
- Knowledge of large complex systems within the functional area
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations, take high-level assignments, and work out details to produce successful solutions
- Ability to effectively mentor and train less experienced personnel
- Ability to deliver quality software deliverables
Responsibilities:
- Interface with internal customers, interpret requirements, and provide recommendations on implementation
- Independently perform analysis to develop and implement high-level designs for assigned projects
- Full lifecycle development process, including design, development, testing, and implementation of moderate to advanced complexity systems
- Act as a point of escalation to resolve new/complex issues and provide input on team members' performance and technical abilities
- Mentor and coach team members
- Remain current on industry standards and advances within the area of knowledge
- Diagnose complex system problems using dumps, traces, or other diagnostic tools
- Lead design, code, and test reviews as needed
- Lead mid-size or large-size teams of technical staff to complete assigned projects, balancing quality and schedule
- Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvements and efficiencies
- Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field is required.
