Non-CDL Driver

As a member of the Operations team, the Non‑CDL Driver is responsible for ensuring the safe transportation and timely delivery of products to our customers and other store locations. Duties include preparing, packing, and scanning products for pick‑up and delivery.

• Drive a delivery truck or van to transport items to other stores or customer locations; maintain a driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Abide by all Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and ensure all required documentation is with the vehicle (proof of insurance, fuel card, vehicle registration, etc.).
• Maintain hazardous materials placards as required for hazmat products by route or delivery.
• Conduct pre‑inspection checks of the company vehicle before use and report any defects to the supervisor.
• Return the vehicle at the end of the day, verifying it’s fully fueled, ensuring the daily driver log and any associated paperwork are complete, and securing the vehicle.
• Maintain branch or customer communication while on route to inform them of any issues or changes to delivery in adherence to Johnstone Supply commitments.
• Select products from inventory to fill customer orders.
• Prepare, pack, scan (as appropriate), and stage products for inter‑store transfer and customer pick‑up and delivery in accordance with established standards (including hazardous materials) and ensure packaging is sufficient to avoid damage.
• Process documentation necessary to ship inter‑store transfers and customer orders, including bills of lading, packing lists, small parcel manifests, and other required documents.
• Load delivery vehicles and assist customers with will‑call pickups.
• Process customer returns, ensuring returns are in sellable condition per company policy.
• Verify warranty paperwork has been properly and neatly filled out; initiate warranty return process and stage product in the warranty area.

• High school diploma/GED with at least one year of truck driving experience (26‑ft vehicle) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six months’ experience in warehouse operations in a wholesale environment preferred.
• Experience with computer or barcode‑driven inventory management systems preferred.
• Experience driving a forklift preferred.

• Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record acceptable to the company and remain eligible to drive a commercial motor vehicle under applicable laws and FMCSA regulations.
• DOT medical card required, or willingness to obtain one.
