Accounting Manager

Position Summary

Accounting Manager at Sundance Mountain Resort is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and coordinating month-end and year-end close processes.

Pay: $70K-$80K DOE.

Shift: Weekends, holidays and special events required; generally Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or as business needs dictate.

• Oversee and review daily journal entries, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Supervise credit card transaction reviews and ensure proper project accounting.
• Help manage balance sheet reconciliations and accounts payable to ensure timely payments.
• Assist the Controller in monthly and annual close processes to issue timely, accurate, and complete financial statements.
• Establish performance benchmarks for accounting operations and develop reports for management tracking.
• Maintain adequate accounting records and controls to mitigate risk and enhance financial accuracy.
• Provide required information to external and government auditors during audits.
• Oversee local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Continuously develop and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and internal advancement.
• Coordinate and participate in cross-functional projects as required by management.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of corporate accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel capabilities.
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and financial compliance.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Professional skepticism and attention to detail.

• Experience with Sage Intacct Online.
• Familiarity with the hospitality/resort industry.
• Deep understanding of internal controls and audit processes.
• Expertise with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
