SummaryWEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS REQUIRED. Contribute to a positive Sundance experience by providing a sincere, professional and friendly greeting to Owl Bar guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide professional presence at the front door of the Owl Bar.
- Warmly greet all Owl Bar patrons at the front door and check guest identification according to state law.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Owl Bar and Sundance history when educating guests.
- Share the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as appropriate.
- Inform guests of live music when available.
- Collect cover charges, make correct change, and handle a bank.
- Assist Owl Bar and boardwalk guests with resort information and directions.
- Maintain a neat and organized entrance to Owl Bar.
- Manage crowd control when no seating is available.
- Ensure maximum guest occupancy is not exceeded.
- Ensure guests do not enter the establishment with alcohol.
- Ensure guests do not leave the establishment with open alcoholic beverages in hand.
- Know and comply with Utah liquor laws.
- Assist Owl Bar staff with side‑work as needed, including rolling silverware, folding napkins for servers, and helping bar staff close down the bar.
- Support the recycling program.
- Embrace and promote all facets of the Sundance Guiding Principles: vision, mission, service standards, and values.
- Exhibit job and product knowledge to accurately support and promote all Sundance departments, amenities and programming ventures.
- Be flexible to meet business demands, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage time appropriately.
- Work with a broad‑based constituency and provide excellent service to all internal and external guests.
- Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
- Keep information confidential as directed in the confidentiality agreement.
- Support and comply with all Sundance policies, procedures, and standards.
- Protect Sundance assets.
- Be a positive ambassador of Sundance inside and outside of work.
Support and participate in environmental programs, such as minimizing waste, recycling, conserving energy, purchasing and using sustainable products, educating co‑workers/guests on environmental ethics, supporting vendors with similar ethics, decreasing pollution levels, minimizing the use of toxic chemicals, restoring wildlife habitats, and car‑pooling with colleagues to reduce carbon emissions. All employees are invited to participate in environmental or Sundance Preserve sponsored events.
DressCode
Employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion appropriate for their area. Requirements include:
- Adherence to the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50).
- Wearing nametags at all times while on duty.
- Clean, unwrinkled clothing in good condition.
- Blue jeans with a black belt; appropriate skirt length from knee to ankle; tailored fit.
- No tank tops, halter tops, tube tops, or spaghetti straps; sleeves permitted for females.
- Black socks and black non‑slip shoes required; dress sandals permitted for females; flip‑flops prohibited.
- Owl Bar t‑shirt, Sundance logo baseball caps must be in good condition.
- Hair cleaned and combed; long hair worn off the face.
- No jewelry except stud earrings and a wedding band.
- Clean shaven or trimmed beard for men; no stubble.
- Pants/shirts free of stains, frays or holes; cleaned and pressed.
- Employees must practice good hygiene: showered, clean teeth, fresh breath, clean hands and nails.
