First Grade Teacher

Position Overview

Pasadena Waldorf School is seeking a warm, dynamic teacher with a pioneering spirit for our rising first grade class. We are a very established school that is entering a phase of re-birth and rebuilding after the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. Our educational program, connection to our history and Waldorf roots remains strong as we re-imagine the ways we use our campus spaces for the regrowth of both our campus and our town.

Our students will participate in and experience this period of growth with us as a core part of their educational journey-which adds an exciting layer to the task of faculty work and class leadership.

Ideal candidates will have experience in or have begun training in Waldorf education. A strong history in education or child development settings is highly favored. If not already trained, a willingness to complete training within the first 8 years of employment is expected. Full-time teachers need to have a Bachelor's degree or higher. A strong and warm communication style and enthusiasm for working collaboratively with others is also considered essential for this position.

Our campus fosters both indoor and outdoor learning experiences so being able to navigate a wide range of environments and adapt to changing conditions is important. Class teachers work full days and are expected to attend a limited number of after school meetings each week. In return for your individual contributions you will be met by a caring, dedicated circle of faculty and staff colleagues who share a passion for the work and for the growth of each member for the good of the whole.

We have many experienced teachers who can serve as mentors and dedicate time in our weekly faculty work to develop our skills as educators.
