Job Description

Interplan is a commercial architectural and engineering firm with over 50 years of experience specializing in restaurant and retail design for large nationwide clients. With offices in Orlando and Chicago, our Orlando office is expanding, and we are seeking a talented Electrical Designer/Engineer to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Emergency lighting and egress systems
• Life — Safety building requirements
• Fire alarm, smoke detector and strobe/alarm design
• Follow Equipment and Systems specifications
• Knowledge/understanding of electrical building codes and NEC
• Responds to permit comments
• Review shop drawing submittals
• Do basic circuiting and create panel schedules
• Position requires ability to run loads and the ability to produce power and lighting code calculations
• Conduct site visit surveys and reports
• Collaborate and Coordinate with other Engineering and Architectural disciplines
• Perform Quality Control and Quality Assurance of both peer and self designed projects

Qualifications & Prior Experience

• 3-5 years in the design of building electrical systems required
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical materials and systems and their application
• Awareness of NEC codes and application to specific design
• Experience with power systems, lighting systems, and building control systems
