Our client, a prestigious bespoke furniture maker based in Alton, is seeking a skilled Furniture Assembler to join their workshop team. Specialising in high‑end, handcrafted outdoor furniture, this is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a company with a strong reputation for excellence and craftsmanship.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on position working within a close‑knit team, assembling bespoke pieces of outdoor furniture to the highest standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting drawings, fitting components together with precision, and ensuring each item meets the company's exacting quality standards. You'll be working exclusively with solid wood, never MDF, so a strong understanding of the characteristics and behaviour of hardwoods is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembling custom‑made solid wood furniture using both hand and power tools
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Sanding, fitting, and finishing components to ensure a flawless end product
  • Collaborating with the workshop team to meet production deadlines
  • Maintaining a clean and organised working area
  • Taking ownership of your work and contributing to the ongoing quality of production
About You
  • A background in woodworking is essential – ideally with formal training or qualifications in woodwork
  • Experience working with solid timber (rather than manufactured boards)
  • A meticulous eye for detail and strong hand skills
  • A proactive attitude, with a willingness to take on responsibility and pride in producing high‑quality work
  • A genuine passion for furniture‑making and craftsmanship
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
What’s on Offer
  • Full‑time, permanent role with a well‑established and respected furniture maker
  • Friendly and supportive workshop environment
  • Opportunities for development and progression within a growing company
  • Competitive pay based on experience

This is a rare chance to be part of a team creating beautiful, long‑lasting pieces that are truly one of a kind. If you're passionate about woodworking and ready to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now with your CV and a short introduction explaining your experience and interest in the role.
