Position Overview
Office Associate – State of Illinois – Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery, Alton Mental Health Center, Alton, IL. This role provides complex and confidential clerical services for professional and paraprofessional staff on the forensic living unit (90%) and civil living unit (10%). Responsibilities include establishing, updating, purging, and maintaining confidential files for each patient, tracking information on timeliness and legalities of documents received, completed, and distributed, and gathering and organizing information for report preparation.
EssentialFunctions
- Provides complex and confidential clerical services for the professional and paraprofessional staff on the forensic living unit (90%) and civil living unit (10%).
- Establishes, updates, purges, and maintains confidential files for each patient on forensic and civil living units.
- Tracks information on each patient such as timeliness and legalities of materials received, completed, and distributed.
- Gathers and organizes information for report preparation.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
- Two (2) years of office experience.
- Keyboard speed of at least 45 words per minute.
- Ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment.
- Ability to retrieve files, update complex treatment plan files, and to collate materials, staple and transport light to moderate loads up to 15 lbs.
- Pass the IDHS background check.
- Pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm; 1-hour unpaid lunch.
