WhatYou Will Do
- Work as a high‑caliber dental hygienist performing conventional dental hygienist duties and participating in an educational program for dental students.
- Current/valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Illinois.
- Current/valid CPR Certification.
- Advanced knowledge of dental hygiene, infection control procedures, blood borne pathogens, dental assisting, dental terminology, instruments, and treatment procedures.
- Ability to organize and perform tasks independently.
- Ability to follow proper purchasing and inventory control procedures of the University and the School of Dental Medicine.
- This position requires the knowledge and ability to train dental students, residents, and assistants in proper dental assisting and infection control methods. Requires knowledge of inventory control and sterilization methods.
- Familiarity with the legal and ethical obligations related to patient care.
- Must be skilled in verbal, written, and interpersonal communications which are critical in addressing patient, faculty, and student concerns in an effective and diplomatic manner.
- Requires a person with self‑motivation who can work effectively without direct supervision.
- Must have excellent computer skills and the ability to become an expert clinical information system user.
- The person employed in this position must be licensed as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Illinois and have current CPR certification prior to date of employment.
