Position Overview

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Support Service Coordinator I for the Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois to provide guidance and direction to staff in the preparation and serving of food for patients at the Alton Mental Health Center on an assigned shift. Serves as designated lead worker. Directs staff in the cleanup of the kitchen, dishes and equipment.

Functions
  • Provides guidance and direction to staff in the preparation and serving of food for patients at the Alton Mental Health Center on an assigned shift.
  • Serves as designated lead worker.
  • Determines daily food requirements and requisitions food from the general storeroom.
  • Assists with ordering of perishable foods to be used for daily consumption and/or emergency supplies due to spoilage or late deliveries of bulk items.
  • Assists in ensuring that all food items, supplies, equipment and storage areas are properly secured at the end of the assigned shift.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of High School.
  • Requires two (2) years of experience, such as could be gained at the Support Service Provider level in one of the support service functional areas to which assigned.
Conditions of Employment
  • Per P.A. 098-056 requires the ability to complete a food handlers and training course and obtain a Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers and applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
Work Hours

Week 1:
Off Sunday, 11:00 am - 7:30 pm Monday - Friday, Off Saturday, 30 min paid lunch & 30 min unpaid lunch, Business Office.

Week 2:
Off Sunday, 11:00 am - 7:30 pm Monday - Thursday, Off Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Saturday, 30 min paid lunch & 30 min unpaid lunch, Business Office.

Week 3: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Sunday, Off Monday, 11:00 am - 7:30 pm Tuesday - Friday, Off Saturday, 30 min paid lunch & 30 min unpaid lunch, Business Office.
