What

You Will Do
  • Share expertise, knowledge, and experience in renewable energy construction practices and procedures with participants in the Clean Energy Incubator (CEI) program.
  • Assist with training participants, ensuring adherence to industry and Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) standards and best practices.
  • Recruit employers, workforce/trade organizations, industry leaders, and others to network with the CEI and share guidance and employment opportunities for participating contractors.
  • Help create new contracting pathways for CEI graduates by connecting them with high‑growth clean energy opportunities and preparing them to successfully bid on and secure state‑level clean energy contracts.
  • Support ongoing program development and engagement to strengthen partnerships within the clean energy industry.
  • Collaborate with CEI staff to ensure training content reflects current industry trends and workforce needs.
  • Promote the CEI’s mission to expand equitable access to clean energy careers through inclusive recruitment and training practices.

This grant‑funded position will rotate between the two incubator locations:
East St. Louis (1800 N. 25th Street) and Alton (620 East Broadway).

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a closely related field required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in construction, contracting, or workforce development, preferably involving training, mentoring, or technical assistance for small or equity‑eligible contractors.
  • Knowledge of construction management processes, building systems, codes, and safety regulations sufficient to advise on compliance and bid preparation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Skilled in problem solving, decision‑making, and mentoring diverse contractor and partner groups.
  • Familiarity with regional economic and labor market conditions and effective techniques for engaging employers and industry partners.
  • Proficient in interpreting drawings, specifications, and bid documents, as well as using common estimating and scheduling tools.
